Environment and nature
NZ Native Forest Restoration Trust
Founded in 1980, the NZ Native Forests Restoration Trust is New Zealand's leading organisation involved in forest restoration. Since then, the Trust has acquired land at the rate of 250ha a year to protect important species, restore their habitats and to improve the quality of our waterways. It now has 25 reserves throughout the North Island with a total of nearly 6,000ha of protected native forests. As always, ongoing costs of reserve maintenance need to be met and such help is constantly sought and highly valued. If you would like to lend a hand in any way, please contact us.

Ministry of Culture and Heritage
A relatively new department it brings together the Governments role in administering the arts and protecting our heritage. New Zealand History
The DigitalNZ team are really proud to announce that they've launched their new site, Make It Digital.
The site is focused on creating and sharing New Zealand digital content, which we're tackling in two ways:
1. The Guides and Ask a Question sections are designed to help people who are trying to create new digital content, or digitise their stuff.
2. The Voting section - It's a public forum for people to share their ideas for new NZ digital content, with voting and commenting functions. There's some great ideas in there already that you can vote on.

Transactions and Proceeding of the Royal Society of New Zealand 1868-1961
100 years of New Zealand science. Searchable full-text of one of New Zealands most important research publications. 65,000 pages, including 3,000 full colour illustrations, maps and photographs. Contributors include James Hector, William Colenso, Charles Fleming, Thomas Hocken, Walter Buller and Ernest Rutherford. Subjects include botany, zoology, geology, ethnography, agriculture, history, literature and more.
Archives NZ - Archway
Archway contains descriptions of over 1.5 million records that have been transferred from government agencies to Archives New Zealand. This will increase over time as additional records are added to the system.
Please note that Archway contains descriptive information only; it does not yet provide on-line access to the text of the records themselves.
Auckland War Memorial Museum Cenotaph Database
Search for biographical and service details for over 115,000 New Zealand service men and women from the 19th century till today and especially from World War One and World War Two. Look for the places our service men and women were connected to: birth places, addresses on enlistment, where next of kin resided. Follow the World War One service personnel on their journey to war and the places they went to: the campaigns and, for many, where they died and are buried.
NZ Defense Force personnel records
The New Zealand Defence Force Personnel Archives hold only the individual service files of discharged New Zealand service men and women, from (1899) the Anglo-Boer War to current time, for all three services Navy, Army and Air Force.
Personnel files now located at Archives New Zealand.
All South African War (1899 1902) personnel files. All post South African War files with surnames beginning with the letter A to SHAAB Leslie.
Personnel files still available for enquiries at NZDF Personnel Archives at Trentham.
No World war One personal files are now available for enquiries from NZDF Personnel Archives at Trentham with the exception of files for personnel who continued to serve in the New Zealand Forces after 31 December 1920. These files are still available.
