ABOUT US

Kia ora.  Welcome to the Wairarapa Library Service, a shared public library service for Carterton District and South Wairarapa District Councils.

You can borrow and return library resources across the libraries of Featherston, Martinborough, Greytown and Carterton. Each of our libraries have tonnes of books, magazines, audio books, graphic novels, and more.  With amazing staff to point you in the right direction, we encourage you to visit.


MORE THAN BOOKS ONLY!
Browse, discover and borrow from 8,000 books, magazines, newspapers and 13,000 electronic /audiobooks via Libby. WLS has both paper and electronic versions of books and magazines.

READERS HELP Not sure what to read next?  We have great suggestions at Find Your Next Great Read  or talk to one of the library staff, they’ll have good suggestions too.


REFERENCE ENQUIRIES
Need to find out something?  We can help find accurate and robust information on anything from, government consultations, to school projects, to current affairs or quirky facts.  

 

HOMELINK
Books chosen specifically for you.  A book delivery service for those who are homebound 

or in retirement homes.

INTER - LIBRARY LOANS
Access items not held by WLS or other SMART libraries through the National Library of

New Zealand’s Inter-library loan system (charges apply). 


 

PROGRAMMES
The Libraries are offering an increasing range of programmes, for all ages.  Join us for Wā Kōrero, Build With Bricks Club, STEM Challenge pop-ups and Bookclub, writing classes, and more.
 

We host regular Age Concern, Digital Seniors and Justice of the Peace (JPs) clinics.

COMPUTERS & INTERNET

Come in and make use of the free WiFi and access to Chromebooks or fixed computers.  

We can help you become confident with printing, scanning or copying.
Please Note: Chromebook and Chromestation will shut down 15min before the library is set to close.


PRINT FROM YOUR OWN DEVICE
To print off your own device (phones, tablets, laptops) simply forward an email with the attached document to monitor@print.apnk.nz  You will receive an email back with a code, please come to the library the same day with that code to pay and retrieve your printing.
