Click and Collect – We Choose
Click and Collect – We Choose is for library customers who:
are unable to place reservations online
would like a fortnightly package of books
trust librarians to choose items on your behalf
possibly haven’t got access to a smartphone, computer, or tablet
How does it work?
After completing a sign-up process, every fortnight the librarians will handpick five books for you.
The items will be issued, ready to collect at the library of your choice in the timeslot you’ve chosen.
A separate sign-up is required for each person, so the librarians can choose specifically for each individual.
To access this service either:
Call one of our libraries, where a librarian will create a reading profile for you based on your personal preferences.
So that librarians can select great reads for you we’ll need to know what you prefer e.g.,
Non-fiction (e.g., cookbooks, biographies, history etc.)
Genres (e.g., detective stories, romance, mystery etc.)
You'll also choose a collection location and timeslot from the schedule.
Specific items you want? You can also reserve other items you wish to read (using the Wairarapa Library Service app, our online catalogue or emailing us). When they become available, we’ll add them to your regular collection.
You can cancel this service at any time.
Can’t make it to your pickup slot?
Someone can collect your items on your behalf. They’ll need your library card with them because the items are issued to you.
If you’re unable to collect the items at all, please let us know before your collection timeslot by phoning or emailing. It allows the Library to make alternative arrangements for collection or put the items back into circulation for others.
If you miss two consecutive collection times, you’ll need to sign back up again.

Returning your books
Even if the library is open, return your books using the after-hours slot at any of the WLS or SMART libraries.
Please note: Librarians will do their best to source great reads based on the information you’ve provided. Because we recently changed library management system, we don’t have your reading history – this means you might get something you’ve already read. The chances of that happening will reduce with time.
Magazines, DVDs and items with hire charges are not available as part of this service.
The registration period is for 6 months. At the end of this period, you are welcome to re-register for this service.
